3 Up
After struggling in the tenth and eleventh innings to get anything going offensively, Jesus Valdez rapped a one-out double off of the leftfield wall in the twelfth. Erie chose to intentionally walk Tim Pahuta to set up the double play ball. However, SeaWolves reliever Tyler Stohr plunked Destin Hood to load the bases. That brought Zach Walters to the plate and he delivered the walkoff win as he stroked a single to centerfield.
Zech Zinicola and Rob Gilliam were excellent in relief as they combined to throw four scoreless innings allowing only one hit and striking out six. For Gilliam, who earned his second win of the season, it was his best outing in a LONG time.
Lost in the 12-inning marathon was the job Ryan Perry did in only his third start after beginning the conversion from reliever. Perry lasted five innings and 64 pitches striking out five batters while allowing only three hits and one run.
3 Down
Before Walters delivered in the clutch, the Senators continued their struggles hitting with runners in scoring position. They finished the night 2-for-12 and left a total of 13 men on base.
Although charged with only one error on the night, the Senators had a number of defensive miscues that cost the team. The most glaring was the 1st and 3rd fake pickoff that worked but not executed properly to record the out before the tying run scored for Erie.
Cole Kimball arrived in Harrisburg earlier in the day as part of his rehab assignment and was less than stellar in his 1/3 inning of work. Kimball seemed tentative as he allowed a leadoff hit and followed that with a walk.

• After the game, the Senators made a number of roster moves. Jesus Valdez and Manny Mayorson were promoted to AAA Syracuse. Outfielder J.R. Higley was assigned to Harrisburg and Jose Lozada was activated off the disabled list.
• Contrary to what I was previously told, Ryan Tatusko will make the spot start on Friday in Bowie***********************************
"I think you can learn a lot from these games as a player or even as a manager. If you notice in a lot of extra inning balllgames, guys get away from our offensive approach. Games like this you have to learn to let the game come to you." - - manager Matt LeCroy
